Government of Manitoba Government of Manitoba

An Information Agent offers a variety of front-line and referral services. Examples of these services include:

  • Business start up information (Obtaining a business name, permits and licenses and free seminars, etc.)
  • Retail Sales Tax information and applications
  • Access to business support services such as coaching/mentorship and free professional consultations
  • Employment Standards information
  • Workplace Health and Safety Information
  • Immigration program information and settlement services for newcomers
  • Free Commissioner for Oaths service
  • Tenant and landlord information and forms
  • Information on home repair programs for low income earners
  • Information and applications for rental assistance to low income seniors, families and persons with disabilities
  • Manitoba Health Card - registration/name change/lost cards
  • Manitoba birth, marriage and death certificate, change of name and/or name correction applications
  • Manitoba Tourism information
  • Information and referral service to all other provincial government departments

Family Services
The following divisions have staff assigned to the Red River Region Centre:

  • Employment and Income Assistance
  • Community Living disABILITY Services

Housing and Community Development - Manitoba Housing
A property Manager for Property Services works at the Centre, however an appointment is recommended. Please call 1-204-433-2578.

Jobs and the Economy
A representative from Training and Employment Services is available every Wednesday, by appointment, at the Centre.

A generalist from Justice Manitoba works at the Centre on an itinerant basis. The Centre is also host to a circuit court every fourth Tuesday.

Manitoba Public Insurance
Driver Vehicle and Licensing conducts testing of drivers two Fridays per month at the Centre. An appointment is required through Manitoba Public Insurance. Visit the website for more details.

Manitoba Youth Job Centre
During the summer, the Centre is host to the Manitoba Youth Job Centre. This Centre connects students looking for summer jobs with employers wanting to fill part-time or seasonal positions.

Community Employment and Resource Centre (CERC) Community Employment and Resource Centre

Our bilingual employment centre offers direction, assistance and opportunities to the residents of Southeastern Manitoba to access the skills and resources necessary to achieve meaningful employment and success within the workforce.

We offer the following services for job seekers:

  • Resume, cover letters, interviewing tips and job search assistance

Réseau communautaire (RC)RĂ©seau communautaire

Since 1993, the Réseau communautaire has helped bring into being projects that promote the French language and culture in nearly 30 Francophone communities.

The Réseau communautaire agent is your best source for regional information. He can provide invaluable assistance in the following areas:

  • Community Project Planning
  • Team Building and Meeting Organisation
  • Locating funding
  • Preparing grant applications
  • Liaison to help create partnerships
